A grant applicant must:
1. Submit 1 copy and an original of the GWEF Grant Application (General Information Page, Narrative, Complete Budget and any other relevant attachments). Applications will not be considered by the board if this requirement is not met.
2. Mail applications to GWEF, PO Box 369, George West, TX 78022 or hand deliver applications to any GWEF board member. In addition, a completed application can be left at the business office to be picked up by a GWEF board member.
The GWEF was founded to raise funds that would be distributed back to our educators based on their needs to provide educational material that could not be funded by our school budget. The regular grant cycle opens on the first day of school and the deadline to turn in 2022 grant applications is March 8, 2022.
The grant request will be given to the GWEF board members and will then be decided on approval based on the availability of funds. The board will contact all applicants to let them know if their grant has been approved or not. This is usually done in the first week in April.
The GWEF has the right to contact any applicant to research request and to ask for possible adjustments to their request if needed.

Flex Fund Grant
GWEF has set aside $3,000 to be used for special flex fund request. This grant will be used for time sensitive request that can not wait for the regular grant cycle, such as events that come up during the school year that would otherwise be missed.
These grants are first come, first served and will only last as long as the funding is available. After the flex fund has granted $3,000, it will no longer be available until next school year. You are welcomed to contact a GWEF board member to see if funds are available before request is made.
